Oh yes! It's a little odd..but, Prince's "Kiss" makes me just want to dance and sing!!!

3. What are you thankful for?

 

So many things! My husband and his health, my family, my friends..

4. Which fashion fad from the past do you wish you could wear today?

 

Non really, because if I get the urge to wear something, I'm going to wear it..In style or not! hehe

5. Do you wait until the "low fuel" light comes on before you fill up the gas tank?

 

Every darn time.  My monitor usually is below 10 miles to E! I will run out of gas one day!

National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and 5 ? Friday!

 

As many of you know, this topic is something near and dear to my heart.  In summary, my husband is a cancer survivor - in particular of a childhood cancer.  Rhabdomyosarcoma is a soft tissue cancer that usually occurs in children under the age of 8 - before puberty.  My husband was diagnosed at age 23.  He was too old to be treated at St. Jude Children's Research in Memphis, TN, but because he had a childhood cancer, and because it was EXTREMELY rare for him to have it at his age, he was accepted, treated, and ultimately cured.  God put his angels at St. Jude to treat these sweet babies...Nothing is more humbling in the world than being at a place with so many sick children, who, despite the way they feel, still have smiles on their faces.  If you do nothing else today, visit the St. Jude website and donate, or even buy something from their adorable gift shop..all proceeds go right back into the hospital!

1. What is your favorite summer time activity?

 

Tanning by the pool of course!

2. Do you have one laundry soap you stick to, or do you buy whatever's on sale?

 

I usually just buy whatever is on sale!

3. What is your favorite dinner to make in the summer?

 

I love anything grilled...But a grilled cheeseburger and hotdog would be my meal of choice

4. Do you have any talents?

 

Can't say that I do..I have some hobbies, but not anything that I would call a talent

5. If you could instantly be an expert in something, what would it be? Why?

 

Infertility or cancer..It would be hard to pick between the two.  So far in our relationship we have dealt with both, both being equally close to my heart.

Five Crooked Halos

1. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?

     My eye color...I wish I were either more green or more brown, instead of stuck in between the

     two! And sometimes, I wish I could trade my curls for thick, straight locks.

2. Write about a time when you got lost.

     When I was in elementary school, my friend and I were playing in the woods behind our

      house, and we got lost in the woods for probably about an hour. Maybe it was less than that,

      but when your young, scared, and lost, a minute seems like an eternity.  I will never forget,

      she fell down and busted her nose!

3. Camping or 5 star hotel?

      5 star hotel. I know. I grew up in the "country" and I should be a camper..But truth is, I like my

      warm, clean bed.  I could handle the camping thing until bedtime. Then I want shower and

      a bed.

4. Have you donated blood?

      Yes, at St. Jude last year. 

5. Do you have a budget or do you 'fly by' most months?

      We don't have a budget, but we don't necessarily fly by either.  When we get paid, we put a

       certain amount into our IVF account, and the rest in our checking for bills and to live.  But,

       low limit on our checking account, meaning we will never let our checking account get below

       a certain amount of money.  Which would be enough to pay our bills if something were to

       happen and we didn't get paid.

1. Have you ever had surgery?
            
            I have never technically been cut into.  But I have been put to sleep for my egg
            retrieval.

2. Ever ride in an ambulance?

           Yes! Wreck numero dos, the year I turned 16.  Accidentally totaled 2 vehicles

3. How are you in a medical emergency? Panicked? Calm?

            Shocked! I tend to freeze up and just stand there. For example, my grandpa had a
            heart attack when I was in middle school at our house.  Everyone yells for me to
            call 911.  I am still standing in the same spot when the ambulance arrives. Luckily,
            someone else had the composure to go inside and call 911.  Car's 4 Kids event a
            few years ago, people are lined on the side of the road, myself included, when a
            drag car does a spin out and hits the crowd in the exact spot I had been standing
            30 seconds before.  People are screaming, bleeding, dead..and I am standing in
            same spot until the boyfriend at the time picks me up, covers my eyes, and
            carries me away.

4. Do you garden? Flowers or veggies?

            No, but I would love to grow some tomatoes and cucumbers!

5. When did you move out of your parents house?

            How dare you ask?! When I got married! Not..haha..I guess I moved out a little at
            a time with Matt.  I was completely staying with him a few months before we
            were married!
