Eggies Eggies!

Retrieval today went very well! I took my Valium last night before bed..We arrived at the East Memphis Surgery center before 8 am.  They called me back by 8:30 to check my vitals, temp, etc. After I changed into my gown and surgery socks, she sat me down to start my IV, and that's when I feel apart...I was so scared and so nervous and it all came crashing out..I felt like a complete idiot, but she assured me that it was fine to be scared and emotional.  So, after the IV they brought my hubs back to hang out until they got me ready.  I somewhat calmed down after he got back there.  Dr. Detti came into to talk to us until time to go back to the "surgery" room.  She told us, based on my follicle count and measurements from the last ultrasound, they expected to get 8 to 10 mature eggs, and maybe a couple of eggs from the smaller follicles..So, I kissed my love goodbye, went back to the room, they showed me where to lay and undid the back of my gown.  I literally don't remember my head hitting the pillow before I was knocked out.  The next thing I know I'm waking up in recovery in writhing pain, and the nurse shouts "we got NINETEEN EGGS!!" I kept saying OMG OMG over and over...19..That's so amazing and so much more than I expected. I know they won't all be mature, but hopefully that will give them a good amount to choose from..Meanwhile..My stomach and back hurt SO bad that I bawled...The nurse kept telling me to hold on until the Percocet  kicked it that it would be better.  She also gave me a few sips of Sprite and went and got my hubs to come back..After about 10 minutes the meds kicked in and the pain slowly eased. so they told me if I could get up and walk to the bathroom on my own and pee, that I would be ready to go home!  That was no problem because every since my ovaries got so huge, I've had no problem peeing on command.  So, they let me get dressed on my own (sitting down of course) willed me out in a wheel chair...By the time I got into the car I felt really good and extremely hungry..I also had Phenergan in my IV so that curved the nausea..So all in all, I really got lucky....I'm taking 2 Tylenol 3 every 3 hours, so I'm not feeling much pain except for when I go from sitting to standing or trying to use the bathroom.  I mainly just feel pressure.  So the doc said I could work half a day tomorrow if I felt up to it, so I'm planning to go in until noon.  My transfer should be Friday or Sunday! God has blessed us so much to make it this far, so please continue to pray that things will progress! Our sweet little embryo's should be on their way to growing as I type this! I can't wait to hear how they're doing tomorrow!
