miscellany monday

<one> coolness and soup.  we finally had a bit of cool weather here in tn over the weekend! of course, this put me in the mood for soup! matt was supposed to be working days this weekend, but the night shift was short several officers, so he switched, leaving me alone for the second weekend.  so, my friend whittney came over and we made some vegetable (mine also had ground beef) soup and cheese toast! there is nothing like making soup in your fuzzy pj's on a cold night!! near to perfect friday!

<two> hermit. this was me this weekend.  saturday was my rotation to work, which in the banking world is (thankfully) only until noon! i was home by twelve thirty, which ended my contact with civilization. i holed up in my house on the couch all day saturday and spent saturday night sorting through some things and cleaning my horrific closet! thanks to the time change, i got an exxxxtra hour of much needed sleep this morning which began another day of being holed up in the house. which leads me to numeros tres and quatro.

<three> babies. have you ever watched this documentary?? omgosh i could not stand watching the little african baby eating stuff off of the ground and the mommy wiping his bottom on her knee! i mean, i know it is their culture and i appreciate that soo much, but it bothered me so.  also, one of the sweet little asian babies made it's first trip home...wait for it...on a motorcycle .. i kid you not..they swaddled this little guy so tight and tied something around it and mommy grabs him up and hops on the motorcycle with daddy...geesh

<four> christmas time is here..... well not yet, but i am getting in the spirit early this year for some reason! my husband is the biggest christmas lover that i have ever known! he loves a christmas story so much he watches it over and over and over on christmas eve and christmas day! i hope he instills the love of christmas in our children...it's sooo sweet and so cute. anywho, i got up most of the inside christmas decorations during my hermit day .. keep in mind this is only the second christmas we have been married and in this house, so we don't have a lot of decorations yet...
