On another note, today was the BIG DAY!!!! We arrived at the Fertility Associates of Memphis at around 10:30...I filled out a ton of paperwork about medical history, etc.  We met with Dr. Ke...He is already a Godsend...He made me feel so much better and made me feel confident that I WILL be a mother some day..He was very nice, very easy going, and answered all of my questions before I asked them.  He also explained to us the results of the analysis in depth.  Basically, when they took my husbands sample of sperm before he began chemo, his count was very well - 200 million sperm, very good quality and motility..He said they were very aggressive.  His counts 3 year post chemo are 1 thousand.  So basically, the volume of sperm is good, but the amount that are actually moving are VERY low.  So he said if a technician were to try to find only one live sperm, it would take an hour and a half.  One of my questions was about the 3 samples we have and if once they were gone that was it. He said maybe after another couple of years, his sperm would build up enough that they could use it in fertility treatment.  But with our 3 vials that we have froze, we have almost a 100 % chance of conceiving!!!!! He also said that they thawed a little piece of the sample to see how the sperm survived, and he said it did very well.  Money wise, he and the financial lady seemed to think that with our low income bracket, we may qualify for a program called Compassionate Care, where they will pay the total cost of our meds for one cycle, which will save us 2 to 3 thousand dollars!!! We won't be abe to apply for that until about 1 month before treatment begins though.  He also is going to give us a 10 % discount because of our cancer situation.  So, if we qualify for the meds program, that will put our total cost at right under 10 grand!! PLEASE pray that we can qualify for this program, because it will make our goal much closer.  HOPEFULLY, if we can come up with the money, we can start treatments in January.  !!!!! YAY!!!
