So, I saw this idea online. I attempted it for a minute, then felt bad and deleted it. But I am at my wits in. We really need to start IVF in January. Problem is, we are still a couple of thousand dollars short. I read about this couple named Brandie and Shelton Koskie. They were the very first fundraising blog. They raised enough money through their blog to completely pay for their first IVF attempt. I wouldn't in a million years dream that I could raise that much money, but I am wondering if it would be worth a shot to try this? There are websites like GoFundMe.com that you can set up a profile and people can donate to your cause.
I guess my question is, do you think this is wrong? We are approximately 4,000 dollars away from our goal. If I could even raise $100 dollars online, that closer than I was before. I don't feel like this is so wrong, because I want a baby more than I have ever wanted anything. My husband deserves this. He is a good man who faced with a devastating illness, and as hard as he fought for his life, he shouldn't have to face not be able to have children too.
Also, does anyone have any online fundraising ideas? Any advice, opinions, etc would be greatly appreciated. Any foundations, websites, just anything that could help us raise money....
This is my first time by your blog, but I just want to say I don't think there is ANYTHING at all wrong with asking/hoping for contributions! I have no extra to contribute, so I'll be praying for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sheri, prayers are as important as contritubtions!
ReplyDeletethere is nothing wrong with that!! i saw a blog once of a marine's wife... he had died (not in combat, but committed suicide b/c of PTSD).. i didn't know her from eve, never went to her blog before... i donated $50 for his funeral expenses right then via a paypal link on her blog.
ReplyDeletei think its a good idea. the kindness of strangers is amazing... and it would be such a miracle story :) i say go for it. :)
i was telling andy last night i wish we had enough money that i could just pay for all of your IVF as a surprise! :D unfortunately... we don't, and i can't, but... you know, i wish i could. ;) hope you have a nice weekend!
